Flat Repair

Alright so here is something for everyone to get a good laugh at, while at work a customer brings in their vehicle for us to fix a flat. Please take a look at the picture below:

As you can see there is something on that tire, it was duck tape and even though me and my co workers got a great laugh out of this please do not actually think that duck tape CAN fix everything because after the time wasted to find the leak, buy the duck tape, and all the other you could have:

1. Fixed it yourself  properly using a few tools that everyone should know about. Some rubber cement, and a tire plug kit. It is literally that simple you just find the whole and use the plug kit as instructed, I will also be posting step by step instructions with pictures on how to plug a tire.

2. If for some reason you can't plug the tire or just simply don't want to take it into a shop to get it fixed, I work at a dealership and I can tell you that for most flat repairs we charge $15.00 and that is for a good plug patch not just a cheap plug.

There will be another post on my experience with different plugs and my preferred method of fixing a flat. Please if you learn anything from this make sure it is that you just go ahead and do something right the first time so you don't run into more issues down the road and you won't be asked in front of a lot of other customers how duck tape managed to be placed perfectly over the whole that was leaking.
